Ministry of Industry and Minerals participated in the first conference for healthcare development strategy In the lights of current challenges. The conference which had been held on Sunday 26/11/2017 in Al-Mansur Hotel under auspices and in the presence of Council of Representatives speaker Dr. Saleem Al-Joburi, Mr. Mohammed Hashim Planning Affairs Deputy Minister attended on behalf of Minister of Industry and Minerals, Investments Department Director Mr. Saadi Abbas and Director-General of the State Company of Designs and Projects Implementations Mr. Hadi Jaloob Al-Aboodi.

During the conference, there was a review of work and a discussion of recommendations about the workshops, which have been already held as a preparation for the Conference. The participation of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals shows its commitment to take part in conferences, workshops and symposiums to increase cooperation and coordination with other Iraqi ministries and institutions and to support them with national products, especially medications.

H.E. Deputy Minister noted the importance to form long-term partnerships and investments with international pharmaceutical and medical supplies Companies to develop the Iraqi Pharmaceutical Companies to produce new medications, that meet the needs of the Ministry of Health. Mr. Deputy Minister also noted the recommendations of the Fourth Workshop related to Health Investment in Iraq, which noted the necessity to amend the instructions for executing governmental contracts No.(2) for 2014 to purchase the local medicinal products to develop the national pharmaceutical sector and to encourage the international pharmaceutical companies to establish their factories inside Iraq.
