Minister of Industry and Minerals discusses with Egyptian Ambassador ways to expand horizons of industrial cooperation between two countries

The Minister of Industry and Minerals Mohammed shyaa Al-Sudany met on Tuesday the Egyptian Ambassador Alaa Moussa to discuss expanding the horizons of industrial cooperation between two countries and encouraging investment , discussing many issues of mutual interest between them .

During the meeting, the minister was particularly keen to increase cooperation and open new horizons between Iraq and Egypt to improve the relations between two countries in a way that achieves the common interests of their peoples.

His Excellency noted that its necessary to take advantage from the experience of Egypt in the industrial sector, which contributes in enhance capacities and possibilities and implementation of projects in Iraq, stressing the direction of ministry to develop the private sector for the purpose of establish partnerships under the Companies Act, which allowed governmental companies to contract with Arab and foreign companies in accordance with the instructions in line with the general government orientation to create the suitable situation to attract foreign investments to achieve economic development in the country .

Al-Sudany expressed his support and encouragement to enter the Egyptian companies which are interested in working with Iraq to participate in the reconstruction of the liberated areas and to enter with the ministry's specialized companies in various industrial sectors including pharmaceutical, food and military and construction to contribute to the development of Iraqi industrial sector by providing a number of privileges and facilities and overcoming the obstacles that may hinder for the success of its work in Iraq.

For his part, the Egyptian ambassador stressed his country’s willingness to cooperate and develop bilateral relations with Iraq in various fields and work with Iraqi companies to contribute to the development of the industrial sector through partnership or investment. Also expressed the Egyptian businessmen willingness to establish new projects in Iraq and a number of industries such as oil industry and light Industries .

He expressed his hope, that this meeting will contribute to the development of the joint work and enhancing the future of bilateral relations between two countries, in addition to coordinate with Egyptian side about preparation for the meetings of the Iraqi-Egyptian Joint Committee, to be held in next December .
